Hello Palmetto Middle School Community!
I’m Gina Vinueza, this year’s PTSA President. I want to first THANK YOU for your ongoing support of our school. I have served on the PTSA Board and the EESAC (Educational Excellence School Advisory Council) at Palmetto Middle since 2015. I am the proud parent of a Palmetto Middle School graduate who is now a Sophomore at Miami Palmetto Senior High and a current 8th grade Palmetto Middle student.
We are so fortunate to have amazing public schools in our community that strive for excellence and welcome our involvement. Palmetto Middle School offers so much to our children with 5 specialized levels of education that allow each individual student to reach his or her own personal best. Our PTSA is comprised of passionate and committed members willing to donate their time, talents, and funding to provide programs and services for our students so that their development is supported and enriched beyond the classroom! Each year we rely on this involvement to continue these programs and services.
Last year, we faced some very tough challenges. Keeping our children safe in school and having critical funding taken away are just two of the many issues that we will continue to have to address this year and in years to come. When you join the PTSA, even if you can’t volunteer or come to meetings, you sign up to have your voice COUNTED. Our numbers directly impact how much influence our State PTSA representatives have when they go to our legislators with recommendations or requests. I urge all parents/guardians, grandparents, teachers, students, and community business owners to join our PTSA, not only to help fund the many wonderful programs and services we provide to our students, but to also make a difference in the laws shaping public school education today!
